「七」這個數字對上帝有特別意思，創造世界需要七天、一周有七天、而第七天上帝更休息了並創造人類。希伯來語「七」更有著完整及完美的意味。而上帝亦非常清楚，每個人類都擁有七宗罪，這樣才令一個人類變成完整。公元 6 世紀，教宗 Gregorius I 將八大罪改為七條嚴重的罪，稱為「七宗罪」，分別是：傲慢、貪婪、淫慾、妒忌、貪食、烈怒和懶惰，這成 了羅馬天主教神學的教義。這七宗罪視為重大罪過，認為這是其他罪的根源。
S7ns 主要所說關於以上七宗罪之典故，關於一個女生日常生活嘗試將自己的罪惡和醜陋一面以優雅來修飾。可惜無論她如何粉飾七宗罪，始終也無法擺脫。我更嘗試以摩登時尚攝影（fashion photography）來表現內在矛盾，告訴觀眾七宗罪在現今社同樣實行，不只存在於神話故事，捕捉最真面目。時尚攝影大師horst P. horst 及irving penn 是此系列的靈感泉源：利用簡單構圖以及黑白來造就一股神秘氣息，他們用肖像畫方法著手創造一個平行的理想世界，讓他的作品變得神秘而誘人。加上此攝影系列有灰色，加強（罪惡）與（美德）的交疊位置。（由於顏色足以分散觀眾們對概念的注意力）
There has never been a human who has never sinned, with the exception of Jesus Christ. All sins are an affront to God. According to The Bible, the human has Seven Deadly Sins in our lives, which we cannot resist and can never escape from it. We, human figures love to camouflage, we hid away the negativity of ourselves and tended to be perfect in front of everyone. In the Inner Putridness series, I communicate about the putridness of the inner side of mankind and tried to portray the fearful imagery of the way human masking up. I adapted fashion photography and conceptual arts to represent Inner Putridness. Photographs capture down the realm of one’s life, it shows the way we act completely and tells the way we camouflaged out and out. I used myself as the model, tries to make a point in here that no one has the exception of getting rid of this charge.
The series of seven pictures is each showing the seven deadly sins.
“When we pretend we have no jealousy nor wrathy, we start fake smiling; when we pretend we’re not greedy nor gluttony, we start eating and purchasing secretly; whilst pretending not having lusts, we buy pretty under-wears; while we’re helping others, we look around and see if anyone noticing and pride controlling; while working in bed, this is pretending I am not lazy.
Adapting Horst P. Horst’s approach, using simple compositions and black and white colour scheme is to create the sense of mystery. Different colours distract the attention of work instead of the concept, therefore I’ve remain black and white, along with simple composition per each photograph, try to portray this series of photography.
